Without the creativity of our truly talented
artists, Prairie Star Gallery would be just a
beautiful, historic, interesting building with very knowledgeable staff
looking for something to do. Fortunately, over eight years, we've developed a solid network of
skilled, prolific, innovative, sensitive, and traditional
artists who are the core of our gallery and our existence.
Nearly every day, one or more artists
will be in the
gallery -- selling, sharing, and enjoying other
artists' work. Because of the informal atmosphere,
we consider the gallery to be a coffee shop without
the coffee -- informal, educational, conversational.
You won't realize the truth to that statement until
you stop in. There's art going on here, every
day. We feel blessed to have the artists' trust and
confidence, and to share every day in their creative
genius. We often say to ourselves -- "We're
reliving the Renaissance, in the 21st century, in
Sioux Falls, SD."
Our artists are
creative, original, and talented. We believe
their works will stand the test of time. We've
already sold dozens of works we wish we could have
kept for all of you, and us, to enjoy. Why did
we do something dumb like that? Only one
reason, really -- we've got a totally unreasonable
landlord; he thinks he should be paid on a regular
basis.
Is this exciting? We think so, and we're pretty sure
you'll agree. We've heard time and again, from
both artists and customers, that there's a palpable energy
and synergy in the gallery. Chances are, it will
take only one visit for you to say -- "I'm
going back there again, first chance I get!"
